European Art Assets Observatory

T-Lab:

Who we are

The European Art Assets Observatory is an initiative established as a unit of the “Institute for Transformative Innovation Research” (ITIR) at the University of Pavia in Italy. Our scope extends beyond national borders, with a particular emphasis on European countries such as Italy, France, and Germany.

Our Goal

The European Art Assets Observatory aspires to become an international point of reference for the study of the relationship between Corporate Art Assets Management (CAAM) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets.

We place a special emphasis on strategic management, reporting, and societal impact. Our focus extends to corporate resources such as art collections, corporate museums, cultural heritage buildings, and more.

What do we do

Our work revolves around three main perspectives:

Strategic Management of Art Assets

We focus on leveraging art assets as drivers of competitive advantage, remarkable brand awareness, and sustainability practices. By strategically managing art resources, organizations can harness their potential to achieve long-term success and create a positive impact.

Governance and Measurement of Corporate Art Resources

We emphasize the importance of governance and measurement in corporate art asset management. To this end, we actively develop metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) specifically designed for art assets. Our approach considers both the intrinsic value of art and the value it generates for companies and their stakeholders. We adopt an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and ‘outcome-driven’ view to assess the impact of art assets.

Community Engagement

In addition, we aim to foster a community of experts in this field, including companies, scholars, insurance services, consultants, and partners. We organize private workshops and retreats in exclusive venues to facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and networking among members.

EAAO pills video highlights

Recorded as part of the work carried out by our European Art Asset Observatory, this is a series of short videos featuring the voices of those directly involved in the Observatory’s activities.

We are publishing them on ITIR’s YouTube channel, in the dedicated playlist.
