Maurizio Ettore Maccarini
Maurizio E. Maccarini is a Senior Researcher in Economics and Management at the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Pavia. He is the Head of the Master in ‘Innovative Management of Art’, Director of Courses in “Cultural Security Management” and “Due Diligence of Art”; Lecturer of Health Economics at the Master in “Regulatory Disciplines G. Benzi”; Lecturer of “Management of Health Services” at Master in “Clinical Engineering”.
His research concerns the art market enterprises that operate in the art industry in particular the strategy of enterprises and institutions involved in the exhibition and trade of artworks (especially contemporary) and enterprises offering qualified services to the art system.
Being always focused on strategic decisions in the service sector, he has devoted particular attention to SMEs, start-ups, and spin-offs, with special care for corporate finance, marketing, innovation, and internationalization, as key elements of strategic thinking, mainly in contexts related to healthcare, social, educational, culture and art contexts.
Applied research has brought him to projects commissioned by public authorities (finalized to the preparation of laws and regulations), as well as roles related to the University’s technology transfer, and the promotion of start-ups, spin-offs, foundations, associations, institutions, and scientific societies.
